1 in 8 couples have trouble getting pregnant or sustaining a pregnancy.

1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage. Yes, you read that correctly. After seeing two pink lines and dreaming of the future- 25% of those pregnancies will end in grief. Miscarriage robs couples of so many aspects of life, because future pregnancies after loss are also affected.

Endometriosis affects 1 in 10 women in their reproductive years. Endometriosis is a condition in which tissues similar to the lining inside the uterus is found on organs and tissues outside of the uterus where it cannot shed and can cause excruciating pain. There is no cure. Symptom management usually consists of birth control, excision surgery, or lupron (forced menopause).

It is estimated that 5-10% of US women of childbearing age have PCOS. That’s about 5 million women, which makes the condition one of the most common hormonal endocrine disorders among women of reproductive age. But according to the PCOS foundation - 50% of women are not properly diagnosed - meaning that millions of women are struggling undiagnosed.

About 13,770 pituitary gland tumors will be diagnosed in the United States this year, making up about 17% of all primary brain tumors. Your pituitary is the control center for all of your hormones and their regulation - you need proper hormone regulation to become and maintain a pregnancy.

I have made rainbows with our colors in hopes of bringing awareness to these diseases and conditions that affect SO many couples!! It took 5 years... FIVE years of pain, struggling, and heartbreaking losses to finally get a proper diagnosis on what was happening with my body. And I am SO privileged to have a voice to advocate for myself, health insurance to help cover SOME of the costs of expensive testing and surgeries, a job that has been patient with me needing time off to heal, and a support system of amazing doctors, family, and friends who have and will continue to support me.
